Running the Rhine enables you to experience Basel from the banks of this important waterway. With its abundance of river side paths many of Basel's well known treasures are within view. Run through 14th century city gates, alongside the only remaining section of the old city wall, across Mittlerbrùcke and the dam. If we time it right we can even experience a river crossing the local way - on a current powered ferry.
The highlight of this Tour is arriving at the monument that marks the tripoint where the border of Switzerland, Germany and France meet. However as with every great Tour the journey is as important as the destination. The shorter 1 hour Tour will take in the vibrant docks area and include the key sights such as the Cathedral, Marktplatz and Mittlerbrùcke. Runners on the longer Tour will have more time to visit some old city treasures including the 14th century City gates, the old City wall and much more.
in St Albans. A distance of 1.6km and all downhill! It's a route packed with history made interesting through stories, games and rollplay.
